Where is the Automatic Transmission Output Speed Sensor

The diagnostic code is for the Out Put Speed Sensor Which for somereason has many names GM calls it an
F-Sensor on their parts website AC delco calls it a vehicle speed sensor-automatic transmission- other parts dealers callit an auto trans input speed sensor. What I can gather is that it is on the transmission somewhere and sends out speed information to the cruise control, Trans control systems, and the speedometer. Ive seen a range of prices from $121 to $350 Right now I just want to pull it and see it so I can match it to pictures on the net. So please, on a 2009 4dr sedan LS where is this stupid thing I would love a diagram or picture or even written instruction on how to locate it. Thank you Thank You Thank You

      Ask and Ye Shall Receive:

Basically, the VSS is Number 6 on this Diagram, and as I mentioned before in the other thread, its a 3 wire pigtail.

according to the Diagram I have, that is the INPUT (Chrysler calls it the Turbine, since the tone Wheel is attached to the Engine's Flexplate) Speed Sensor. #3 and #4 goes to the Solenoids inside the transmission (#3 being the connector to the Vehicle Harness, and #4 going to the Solenoids themselves) #5 is the Neutral Safety Switch/Reverse Switch (it prevents the engine from starting from any gear except Park or Neutral, and completes the Reverse Light Circuit when you shift into reverse) and Finally, #1 and #8 is the Brains behind the whole Operation: the Transmission Control Module.

nope, the part you need to replace is near the Master Cylinder; Here's a Picture with the VSS boxed in Yellow:

Hey 2009 - Did you replace the output speed sensor? and did that fix your problem? I have the same - no speedo and no 4th gear. Thanks.
