Well before I did headgasket on this 09 5 speed aveo, it would start just fine. Now it just clicks rapidly with good battery and jump, a couple times the fuel pump relay and main engine relay would buzz. it did turn over once without start but just clicking otherwise, I have everything reconnected etc. side note, I tried the starter bump trick to no avail to break the crank pulley bolt. it would click then too, but I was like "ehh" at the time.
IMO that's not the case, unless the starter decided to coincidentally go bad during the work. Did you check both starter wires to see what has power? My guess would be something either didn't get fully reconnected (i.e. 'clicked') or else was bumped loose.Originally Posted by Madataveo
I didn't touch any starter or main power wires, only the engine harness, everything is plugged in cept the dead end connectors for a no a/c car.
If it doesn't crank, then either the starter is bad, one or both of the starter wires isn't getting powered, or the engine is seized/hydro locked (which seemingly can't be, because it turned over once).
It actually started a couple times for a few seconds, didn't sound right something is up and the timing marks were perfect, hell the cams never moved. basically the main ignition relay buzzes, when it does, nothing when key turned, if it is not buzzing then the starter will click, and on occasion turn over. I may just part it out first a headgasket at 40k now this.
