I was wondering how do you remove the black base on the antenna? Does it just pull off? I wanna change it out for a new one but don't know if i should go with a shorty or sharkfin antenna.
Any inputs is appreciated.

remove your interior light and there is a nut inside
to remove your interior light, the clear plastic just pops off and then there's 3 screws holding it in place
once that's remove you'll see the nut holding the antenna

Go sharkfin. Get a real one though, not those cheap wanna-be's from Walmart. I bought one online for a BMW M3. Still haven't installed it though.

Yea i know alot of the ones on ebay are dummy sharkfins but i am reading on all of them to see which are real.
And thanks for the info trempus. very helpful
Wolfman, could you provide more feedback on the reception quality change after you install the shark fin? I went with the shorty antenna and my reception quality stayed pretty much the same except for some stations that were already weak ask it is... I didn't wanna stay with 31" antenna but was under impression that sharkfin would reduce my reception to close to none. are you loosing reception because of smaller antenna? if not - I may even go from shorty to sharkfin.Originally Posted by Wolfman AK907
P.S. It's not that I listen to the radio that much, I just would like to retain that capability in case I need it.
