Anyone Ever Ripped The Door Handle Off?

surely im not the only one.. you know typical winter schlock morning, just cold enough to freeze a 1mm sheet of ice over the entire car. Hilarious- a bugger to deal with. Wipers 'glued to the windshield', none of the doors would open and only a few times a year does such a perfectly cooled layer of ice form. So i get all the scraping done, wreck the wipers by 'peeling them off the window' but surely leaving some of them behind, and then the 'piece de resistance', slowly adding pressure to get the door to open.. and the handle breaks off and im almost in tailbone injury land. Aahh one can only laugh at winter😑

Yes, but on an old Metro, not an Aveo.

      Winter definitely builds character!

Yup ripped my fathers 05 aveo driver side handle off this prior winter, luckily his car is black so no painting needed. Not much to say about it really, it's a quick fix but getting to the nuts behind the sheet metal is very difficult and more of a pain in the ass if you don't have those ratcheting wrenches because you'll have a hard time fitting a ratchet & socket in there or spend an eternity using a plain crescent.

Ohh and dont drop the nuts in the door it'll save you 10 min getting to and finding them
