Aveo side pillars

I have a 09 Aveo5. It has some kind of wrap on the B and C pillars. It seems that some Aveos have this and some don't.This wrap is faded, lifting on the edges and has started to become chalky white. I have been unable to find any products to make this wrap look any better. My question is has anyone attempted to remove this stuff? Is there paint under there? I was considering covering these areas with a carbon fiber looking vinyl. I would think that applying a new wrap would work better on metal than placing it over old wrap. So what kind of problems will I encounter trying to get this stuff off?

well idk about that wrap but I wrapped my a pillars on my 07 with suede and it looks fantastic.

I'm pretty sure it's common for "Sonic owners" to peel these off, and there is paint under there. I'm assuming it's the same for the Aveo. Worst case is you replace them with another vinyl product if there wasn't. A heat gun would probably be necessary to help remove them.

i just realized your talking about on the outside of the car?

i peeled mine off (don't mind the rest of the picture) there was shiny new paint under there.

I guess I was unclear in my last post. I am referring to the outside of the car. I will post pics soon.
