Black altezza lights

These lights are going on a 2007 Aveo-or they were. On original lights all the bulbs are keyed to only go one way, same with the black ones-thats a no brainer. one of the bulb holders is low profile and the other is high profile. One the stockers the bulb placement is staggered to compensate for lo-hi profile. On the Altezza's they are the same height, so the high profile one hits the body where the pass-thru wiring grommet is. I pushed the grommet in to try and get it to fit-nothing. And now I have broken support leg as in the picture. I let the Ebay seller know that there might be a differance between years, I dont know but you guys might.

I'm pretty sure all the hatch tails are the same.

Is the seller giving you a refund on those black ones? Do you have to return them?

I was afraid there was going to be a problem..that sucks. I somewhat understand what your saying, can you snap some more pics showing the problem, my car is in storage so I cant look at them first hand.

so what happened with the dealer?

I sent the seller a email of the issue, but I broke one of the mounting legs so I dont think he will take them back. I'm going to get the trusted heated x-acto knife out and re-key the the bulb holders and switch there position. That will be this weekend job and I'll keep everyone informed.

I re-keyed for the bulb holders and installed.

mmmmmmm....i likey, nice color BTW \:D/ How hard was it to re-key, any how to pics/instructions. Other than that how is the overall fit/look? Does it seem as if these tails are quality(good seal, materials)? Could you post some night shots with the tails on as well as some other angles(far/side...etc?. Just want to get as much detail as possible cause now seeing them on the same color car as mine, they look pretty damn good!

yeah im really fealing those. wish i would have bought a hatch. or i wish there was something like these for the sedan. i am prbley going to paint my tals, they should look allmost the same, when i am done.

I have a solder wand from bluepoint that I used to heat and rekey so the bulb holders would fit. The fit is okay, the left side fit great but the right side needed a little more massaging. I had already broke one of the legs for the right one, but it seemed like it was hitting on something but you just cannot see. I removed the upper steel insert for the upper leg and filed it down which seem to help. I also siliconed the top and side edges because the left one leaked a little. It has been raining here for the last 3 days and so far so good. 8)

They look good, but I think Im just gonna stick with my stockers and tint em. If they were leaking already thats pretty crappy, and the fact that they have to be persuaded to fit is also not good. Ive seen too many of my friends cars that have aftermarket tails leak, yellow, and crack. Thanks for the info though!

I got them for my black hatch and they look good. Too badthey didn't fit better.

So we have to "adjust" and seal these before enjoying them? Were they made for a different car and they just happen to work on the Aveo? Or is this just a poor design and someone is making money off us because they know there aren't a lot of aftermarket parts for Aveo owners?

So swifter did you have to modify yours or did they fit like that. do they leak?

I've noticed a ton of different people on ebay selling this style tailight now. Wonder if they are any better quality?

I can't see paying that much for something "made for the Aveo" but I have to modify it before installing.

I just ordered these lights off ebay from Progrille, and they dont fit worth crap! There is at least a 1/2 inch gap from the body lines.
