Blacking out badges... but quick quest first.
Hello Aveo community. I am undertaking my first of hopefully many mods to my '04 Aveo this weekend. Starting easy with a simple Badge Blackout. Anyways... the '04 Aveo has the front badge stuck on front of the horizontal 'chrome' bar... which are layed over top of the crossed black 'grille'. My question is... did anyone black out the silver bar too? I was considering it, but wouldn't mind hearing if anyone else did it too. Thanks!

I did it with my aveo. But I took the badge off and painted around the border. The finished product looks sweet with my black car :D

A lot of us have removed that silver bar and bow tie altogether. It's very easy, you just remove the grill, take out 8 or 9 screws holding on the chrome stuff and you've got yourself a blacked out grille.

My only problem with that is that you can see where it was screwed in, and I didn't really like that

Yeah, as the last poster stated, the 1st Generation Aveo's leave you with awful looking screw holes. I do however like the looks of the entire thing painted black. May try that in a few minutes. I'll post pictures with how it looks!
Re: Blacking out badges... but quick quest first.
I think whenever I get the free time I will be blacking out the rear bowtie in class as well. I wasn't going to originally, but now I think it just stands out better. Not to hijack the thread, but do you guys think I should paint it all black, or black with a green border like I did on the front?
Re: Blacking out badges... but quick quest first.
it should match or be shaved completely.

at the moment its just shaved. I have to paint it, but I'm waiting to see how some other things at school pan out
