What do you mean make it smooth?
what kind of paint did you buy? smooth can be a sprayed finish, or a sand and buffed finish. i recommend only a spry finish on "see through" painting, as buffing might make it blotchy, uneven in appearance, or you'll buff through.
dont paint em. when 5-0 pulls u over and gives u a ticket, itll be expensive to replace. tinted wrap is where its at. easy removal looks smooth and matte, ive had mine for a year and no issues at ALL
I black them out and came out clean but i didnt go to dark
Here you go... A nice cheap buy if you ask me.
Headlight Tint Chevrolet Aveo 2004 - 2006
Headlight Tint Chevrolet Aveo 2007 - 2011
Tail Light Tint Kit Chevrolet Aveo Aveo5 2004 - 2008
i wouldnt use anything over the lens on the headlight. It will decrease output considerably and make it hard to see, or be seen at night. The aveos lighting already needs help when stock.
tinting film is the best
i used vht nightshades on mine. i taped off the reverse lights so they didnt get painted over. used 2-3 coats and it came out good. just gotta be very careful if you used clearcoat on top. could make or break the entire job.
When I used clear coat it fogged the entire light and is now rough in many spots. I'm guessing its the material on my lights. I had to remove the paint and now I'm going to get real tint. Less trouble..more money though.
how did you get the tint off? i couldnt get mine off
I went to target and bought 100% acetone. It'll be in the nail polish area. It worked fine for me but don't take my word for your car. I hate I had to remove it. My left light looked so damn nice. That clear coat ruined everything for the right.
it was the opposite for me. my right looks professional, and my left looks like complete garbage
It only cost $70 to get real film at my car shop so its worth it to get the real deal.
Some people have plastidipped their tail lights. Plasti-Dip Tail lights on 2008 Lancer - YouTube And I'll admit that I'm surprised that the visibility of the lights is that good.
I personally won't mess with my tail lights, as I think that when they are well-waxed and kept up, they look pretty sharp. Well, I did plastdip part of the tail lights, it's just the parts (very top and the side where the screws go in) hidden by the hatch door. And the nice thing about plastdip is that it's only $6 a can, and unlike traditional paint, can peel right off if you don't like. But, I do want to get some tint on the headlights. That'd look so cool. The headlights already look aggressive imo. A nice tint would make them look even more aggressive. I haven't seen anyone do the headlights with plastidip, though. And that probably wouldn't look very good on any car...
