Can't get Fuel door open

Last time I put gas in it I had trouble getting it to stay shut, well I got it shut and now can't get it open. I found half an O ring in the compartment.
Had my wife hold up on the lever while I pried on it with a screwdriver. Still no luck.

i think if you pull the interior out from the 1/4 panel in the trunk, you will gain access to the cable and latch. you should be able to remove it, or pull the latch itself. if not from the interior, it would be accessible from the wheel well.
