I thought there was one out there...where is it :(
*Cough* Ricer *cough* ;)
shut the hell up. lol
its a stock looking wing thats carbon fiber.
ive seen it before and it looks nice with a cf hood.
If he wants to be ricer, let him. We all screw around on at least one of our first cars. I did. It was a '98 Corolla. Riced. Body kit, lights, stereo and rims. You may call it rice since all I did was add a strut brace and ram air but I was proud.
lol a cf wing isnt even "rice" with black rims a cf hood it looks nice.
if its really any bigger than the stock spoiler, i'd call it rice.
Not to mention...a CF wing is originally designed for a purpose...yeah, the Aluminum Uber Tall wings look bad, but a tasteful spoiler isn't gonna be too bad if it matches the cars look.
As far as finding one...I never have yet. I've searched all over too. Best bet is to find someone willing to overlay your stock wing with a layer of CF...or pay to get a mold made, get one produced, and get the first one ever (P.S. that costs alot of $$)
If I ever get a contact who can wrap/overlay stuff affordably, I'll relay the information on. Or there the post of the company in Japan that I posted long back in Interior that will do it, but expext to pay for alot of shipping back and forth.
And one last option is the spoiler aveosummit is trying to sell. It comes from a company in Singapore and if you order direct and ask for it they will make it in Carbon for you.l
how much is that one to order and whats it kinda look like?
Check out the ad by aveosummit in the classifieds...he can get it for you in Carbon as well, he sells SG Carstyling products.
a carbon fiber wing would not be rice... its not the material that makes the wings rice, its the retard no function and ugly as **** looks that make certian wings rice....a rule of thumb, if it looks like it could be part of an airplane than its rice
...Not always. I have a HUGE ASS carbon wing, I get called rice for it sometimes, but not too often cuz you can tell something else is going on with my car. But I race it lots so it's used for a purpose, and made a huge difference even at speeds as low as 60mph. Now I know other people that race and have wings on nearly stock cars that get so much damn crap for them, yet they are some of the fastest drivers in our state. I'm just saying, dont always be so quick to judge!Quote:

i can already see where this is going to go....
Okay... but would anyone be interested in like a Spoon style hatch wing? If it didn't hang off the back too far?
I checked one out at a friend's shop and I bet I could make it work.
i thought a spoon style hatch wing is what this thread was about to begin with
Lol. Whats understeer or oversteer have to do with it? Wings don't effect it that much, plus later I put a front splitter on it and flattened out the bottom of the front for more downforce. Plus if a wing gave me too much oversteer I'd just adjust camber, toe, sway bars, rebound, shocks stiffness, or tire pressures.Quote:

Do you know what understeer and oversteer is?? Rear slipping out on you is oversteer. Most passenger cars (esp. FWD) are designed to understeer i.e. your front end starts to slip before the rear, for safety reasons (it's easier to correct understeer). So a rear wing will give you LESS oversteer than the already non-existant oversteer, not more.Quote:

The wing giving you too much oversteer impossibility.Quote:

Most cars with the huge wing have only that... the huge wing on a stock car. That's rice at it's full starchiness.
I had the wing far before the splitter, and sometime before the LSD and the car didn't change the handling characteristics much as far as pushing concerned. The car would push (err understeer) in turns, but the back end would be loose as all hell on the higher speed ones. Wing fixed that. Also I couldn't break 85mph on nascar turn or 105mph with winds on the straight without the wing, the car felt like it was just going to loose control and slam into the wall. It only had lowering springs and chassis brace at the time. I'm sure with my coil-overs I wouldnt have nearly as many problems.Quote:

I agree, if you see a body kit and winged car, with nothing else they likly aren't out on the track. I've seen maybe 20 cars (out of 1000s) with body kits on the track and 90% of those are drift cars.
squabbling over petty crap like this is dumb if you want a big wing that does nothing do it if you dont want it dont do it i personally love the giant adjustable wings but i dont make fun of people who dont we all drive the same damn car so if we cant work together on making our car our own regardless of personal preference then what the hell is the point of this forum?Quote:

RICE?!
Here she is! I will get a better picture today, since it will be alot lighter out...But it is officially the most pain in the but thing I have done as of yet...
hahaahah thats funny!
With a few more mods to the car I think it'd look really good and not too over the top. The way your cars sitting right now its a bit much for my tastes but then theres people out there that put HUGE wings on completly stock cars and think its tightttQuote:
