makes me wish i could weld and ditch all the nuts and bolts but it gets the job done
2 hella 500 driving lights and 2 hella 500 amber fogs
all that is left is to paint it and wire it all up

Nice clean mounting job. So, you're going to rally race the Aveo eh?
thanks
lots of measuring and patience definitely pay off
there are some rally cross events in the nearby town where i live that i would love to try and get into, but my main reason for the lights is the extra visibility it offers during the snowy season and at night time as well the ability to spot deer and elk that oftten roam the highway...and cuz it looks hella bad ass

Good job
What total wattage of lamps?
It seemed to me that very thin wires and they will be hot.
You put an additional relay for turn on lights?
If the wattage is very large, the battery will not charge from the generator.

looks awesome =D>
thanks hunter
total wattage comes to 220 with each light using a 55w bulb. i will be using two seperate 12v relays that came with the two kits for the lights. so only after the headlights are on i will be able to flip two seperate switches to light up all 4 or just 1 switch for two lights on. at least thats the plan for the wiring so far

With a little bit of modification (i.e. drilling a hole in the back to accomodate longer bulb and hot-gluing/siliconing it in there) you can install some H3 HIDs in those housings... (That's what I did)... It serves two purposes - reduces the running load on the battery alternator (only 35W) and it's a lot brighter... 500FFs is what I have and they're nice... just don't forget to order some Color Shieldz protective laminate here: http://www.amazon.com/Hella-H87988411-S ... 089&sr=1-8 they make them clear, yellow, blue, or smoked, latter is what i used because 3k hids are way bright.

Most likely more legal than the blue license plate lights. If he has the driving/fog light combo (if that's what it actually said on the packaging), then as long as he aimed them as per instruction, they're street legal. If you aim them according to the little paper in the box, they shouldn't blind anyone while putting out quite a bit more light.
In some places it's illegal to have your fog lights on if it's not actually foggy outside, but most of cops don't care from what I know.
