most of the damage on my car i did myself (beating 1/4s for wheels to fit, underneath from being too low) but the front is stone chipped, the front bumper is screwed up along with the windshield from a crate or something falling off a mack truck in front on me on the highway.. and i have a nice door ding in my pass rear door..

i figure its character, when people ask me what my cars "style" or "theme" is, i tell them its a road warrior, as in it looks good runs even better, but it has its battle scars and i take care of it, but i dont take really good care of it. (if that makes sense)

You know I totally agree that **** happens. Its part of life and we have to accept it as it comes. Envisioning a car to be showroow its whole life like Monzaveo said is I think what most of us hope for. I too get upset when little blemishes start appearing on my car be it weather or some ingnorant bastard who was inconsiderate. I feel that if my car must get damaged, than let me be the one to make the dumb mistake of damaging it. Dammit! I want to put my own dings on my car! Why wont they just leave me alone! @##$%^*&^%^%!
      Aveo angst???? LOL!
You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.

With my Monte Carlo, My mother originally bought it in 1999 for $22,000. Two weeks after she bought it, she parked it in the community college parking lot, where she was taking classes. She came out from her classes to discover a HUGE 6 foot long dent from the front of the driver's side door to the quarter panel just before the rear wheel well. She was livid, but dealt with it. The car stayed like that until about 2005 hen my older brother decided he'd try pulling out the dents. The end result: crappy bondo, somewhat less noticeable dent, missing "MONTE CARLO" lettering and what looks like bullet holes where he welded on those metal bar things to pull it out.
      End Result:
      - 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34 - LQ1 3.4L DOHC 24 valve semi-hemi V6, 210 HP, 215 ft-lbs of torque, 4T60e 4 speed automatic with O/D.... 123,000+ miles. Slowly resto-modding it.
      - looking for a first gen Aveo for a daily driver :D

Road damage is one thing, my dents are also from other people. I followed a semi driver for more than 500 miles in my aveo just a couple weeks ago. He kicked up 2 rocks that made a lot of noise when they hit my car, but didn't leave a scratch! Yet I park in wal mart once and I have a door ding? I know **** happens, but how much of it could have been prevented with a little common courtesy and caution?

So few people these days even know the meaning of these words.

I went away one weekend and drove the truck as I was trailer-ing. I got back and some stoned kid keyed my car and put pine straw all over the roof. The bastard wrote "**** you pussy bitch" or something like that. I need to post the pics. Any how he moved out before I figured out who did it. It's a good thing he was gone......otherwise I would have to be explaining criminal charges to future employers.

The next dent I got was a dude who did not observe safe stopping distance. I let it go. The rear bumper had a few scratches. I checked for dents in the supporting bar underneath the foam. No problems.

And the most recent dents were from ME backing out next to an invisible support pool at the gas station where I bought two front tires. I was turning while backing out and rubbed the front bumper on the pole. Now it has a few scratches.

When I do some kind of graphics on the car, that will be a good time to cover up the scratches.

Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....
