Looks awesome. I plan on doing the Headlight mod tonight. I've already blacked out my badges, and I am currently in the middle of tinting my turn signals. I would suggest ditching the dealer 'vanity' plate though :D
isreal whats up!?
omg white with black accents =P~ lookin good papa =D>
Thanks a lot guys. I ended up also doing the rear Aveo5 and LT letters in black. I was just going to remove them, but ended up painting them.
Your car looks good Israel, i also got a white Aveo like urs and planning on doin the same soon. How do one take of the chevy badges? Is it glued on or wat?
Looks good. did you paint the whole front grill, or just the chrome trim?
looking very good.
looks really good with the white and black. the black stands out so much more but it looks awesome!
Looks very good! I havent seen the newer models with blacked out headlamps yet. It makes a notable difference. Nice to see that I'm not the only Aveo tuner in SoCal.
what kind of paint did you use? what prep work do you have to do?
I can't speak for Israel, but when I blacked out my badges and grill (last week), I took off the front bumper and removed both parts of the grill to paint the chrome. For the front badge, I taped it off and carefully painted it. And for the back badge, I removed it by heating up the badge with a hair-dryer and taking a piece of floss and cutting the glue.
To paint them, I used Plasti-dip for a more flat black look.
It has some adhesive on the one side. Just take a hair dryer, like what waggums said, but I've seen people use some fishing line. Keep the hair dryer on it for a few minutes, maybe not even that long, and just use the fishing line to remove the badges. Except I believe that the front chevy emblem is bolted on.
MoneyMike is correct. The front emblem is bolted on - I found that out after taking the front bumper off.
The only reason why I even guessed that in the first place is that my dad took all of his emblems off of his Pontiac, and couldn't get the front emblem off. He quickly learned that it was bolted on. So from that, I figured that all of GM's 2009 (and some older years too) models had the front emblem bolted on. Kinda the same thing with the GM eblem on both sides of every GM car for the last few years.
i like it with the emblem off..
