Door B-pillar blackout sticker replacement, how?

Hi, my 2007. Aveo is grey and has a black sticker on doors, on the pilar position. Sticker should be this: #96349122: Black Out Tape.

Right front door has a nasty scratch on the same position. I was thinking of removing that sticker, putting some body filler on the metal, sanding and sticking a new original sticker.
I guess I would have to remove window seal.
Can someone give some advice on how to do the whole thing?
Removing seal, removing sticker (heat gun?), putting new sticker?
      Tnx

I would consider doing both doors, as the new sticker may not be a perfect match.

But definitely start with the damaged one.

I would think a heat gun and careful peeling would get the old one off. Then use some solvent to clean any residue left behind (goo gone or something like that).

As for the window moulding, can't help you there. But I expect it's just a formed rubber piece and if you roll the window all the way down, you'll just be able to pull it out and press it back in afterward.

Please post back and let us know how it went. I too am curious about how to go about placing the blackouts stickers. I bought them a while back to install of the rear passenger side door. I just haven't gotten around to it.

      What MetroMPG said.

Roll the window down and you can pull out the side unit. The plastic can pull off and the heat gun works nicely. Do use a paint prep to clean the surface before you put anything else one it.
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

Sorry for the years later reply. I didn't put the sticker. Car needed a paint job, several elements, so the guy offered just to remove the sticker and put black paint. I don't know what he used but paint looks similarly grainy like the sticker.
