      Flasher Relay

My headlight went out and figured while im at it replace the signal bulbs for peace of mind, I put led tail lights in and figured lets do the same for the rear signals (1156A). Thinking it was a direct replacement matching load and everything it wasn't so with less load im stuck with a fast blinker. Instead of throwing the old ones back in or returning them and buying new ones I figured I'd inquire on here if anyone knows if they make a plug n' play solid state/electronic flasher for the aveo?

(could always shove a resistor somewhere to bring it back but popping in another relay sounds neater)

I think the aveo uses the standard 3 prong flasher plug that probably most cars use. I imagine you can get a solid state one.

Thanks I got my hands on one and wrestled the old one out, problem fixed.

I'll leave this bit of info here, I took my old relay apart and much to my surprise it "IS" an electronic flasher. Being dumbfounded why it would go faster with LEDs I looked up the datasheet on the chip and found this
"Lamp outage is indicated by frequency doubling during hazard warning as well as

      direction mode"
So it would seem the flasher was designed to act like the ol' flashers of yesteryear when a lamp failed. Could probably trick the chip pulling up the "Lamp failure detection" PIN to trick it for LEDs but it depends if $12 dollars is precious to you to even go through the effort.
