      Gas door lid mod.

The whole design of the 09+ (don't know anything bout previous) gas door is so flawed. So upon closing the door the other day, which you have to slam. The lil' black piece that locks it snapped, which I knew it was only a matter of time before this happened luckily I was prepared and was gonna do this anyway.
Went to lowes and got the round magnets and small roll of double sided tape (gas door lid is plastic) came home and used 4 of the magnets 2 on the body and 2 attached to the lid with double sided tape. price $5.00
No more stupid pull the cable to open the lid, just press on it near the front of the lid and it opens.

I don't slam mine, I just gently (yet firmly) push it in until I hear it click. No problems 2 1/2 years later, and mine is also a 2009. Although, I'm not sure if my mom or dad slam it when they "borrow" it... Actually, I have faith in my dad, he always takes care of his cars. My mom, well, nothing has broke on it yet from her driving it. However, even if they did slam it, the gas door still functions properly.

The first thing that comes to mind is lube white grease before it broke by pulling the leaverup down spraying the little black spike should move in and out freely ( you might have to have two people to do this).
But since it broken & your fine with like that. Your mod is kool. I forget to pull leaver sometime when getting gas, before getting out. I have to go back pull it. lol
