im going to be the jerk that says...never put hids in a car that doesnt have a proper projector housing. blahb lah blah...safety of others...so on and so forth
you can adjust the way the lights shine on the stock lamps. also mine came with shields.![]()
And I'm going to be the jerk driving around with HIDs in all possible housings if they can fit one. Aveo is my third car in a row with 6000K headlights and 3000K fog lights, and only the CX-7 had the projection headlights. H4 bulbs are actually very good with light output staying on the road and not in oncoming driver's face (at least with a blacked out housing in the 1st gen Aveo that is)... And I will keep running HIDs in my headlights/foglights as long as I have the money to get them..Originally Posted by myfakeevo

I really want hids but my housing says not to n I hate when people flash me all the time thinking I got highbeams on with my projectors. N I laugh when people in front of me get pissed off cause they think I have high beams on. N they are covering their mirrors n such. Waving their hands around. N always trying to get ahead to get out the light bug I'm always on their a*s cause they are n everyone goes too slo for me. I get in a lot of trouble for it though![]()
My halos said no HID bulbs either... didn't stop me though... a little bit of filing and the bulbs fit right in.But I'm with different housings now.
And about your lights blinding people - you could just aim them lower.![]()

Who said that was a prob? Hahaha but na really how do u do that? And if it didn't stop u then y did u switch housing. Dis u mess it up n didn't it damage anything?
theres some screws in the back usually. on the stock lamps there is.

Didn't see this question for a while. I just filed the opening to be a little wider, didn't damage anything. It's just that the fillament in H1 HID is a little further away from the projector lens and there's no way to get it closer. If it was too close I could put a couple of washers in there to put it in the right spot, but I'm a perfectionist about my lights, and the light output wasn't doing it for me. If I didn't have anything to compare them to, I'd be fine, but my wife's HHR had a lot better light output with stock housings, so I decided to go with those to try it out. Got the blacked out ones. Loved the light output. Loved the way they look (even though the halos looked fine too, I just got tired of that look). Kept the blacked out OEM ones and sold the halos to a guy from Oregon. Hope he likes them.Originally Posted by EvySpeedy254
You're right, there are screws in the back to adjust the halo projectors up/down left/right (on each light there is two screws next to each projector and to each high beam housing)Originally Posted by oscare003
