Actually, there are projectors that use halogen bulbs. Chrysler Crossfire comes to mind. Good try tho.

You can upgrade those to HID and have no problem. As long as the housing is sealed beam you will be fine...
Of course, if you live in California, everything is back-asswards from anywhere else... but that's how it's stated here...

You are mistaken. It is illegal to install HID lights into a car that did not come equipped with it from the factory. Period. Just because most cops wont hassle you, does not mean it isnt illegal.Originally Posted by xtreme 2

No he didnt. HIDs are perfectly safe and give you way better vision. That is why its illegal to put them into a halogen housing. They are TOO good.Originally Posted by xstevex

hids are great and safe, but if not aimed properly, they will blind people.
You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.
It was a joke man.
Hids are great and safe, when they are installed that way from the factory or retrofitted. Dropping HIDs in a halogen housing is so safe that the US made it illegal. Aimed properly or not, there is too much damn glare.
sorry dude, i missed the joke....

I senced the sarcasm aveodude
but there is always special cases. Like the acura MDX halogen projectors take hids pretty well. but almost always hid projectors and reflectors are the only way hids work well.
