Both. First, horrible glare and you will blind the piss out of everyone (focal point of HID bulb is different from halogen). 2nd is the UV rays in the cheap chinese kits will absolutely ruin the vapor-deposited aluminum bowl. and third is the heat. Just do a proper retrofit if you want HIDs
Ok thanks for advise :)
If you want to do a proper retrofit first go to hid planet.com and read, read, read. Then go to the retrofit source.com and buy buy buy! Lol
can you change the bulb color of a reg bulb? i want to buy halos but dont want to waist my money if i cant put HIDS in them. can i buy the blue halogen bulbs and put them in there?
they clame to be brighter and last longer?
false advertising?
Just looked online 70 bucks lol waist. But I really need to get rid of these blinkers prob going to buy halos next week
If u get the blur coated halogen bulb get it from pepboys 4.99 a bulb with the fog light bulbs. Its both with the regular car bulbs. or you can get the set for 29.99. They are with the regular bulbs. They are the same exact bulb $8 for a set or 30? Or eBay. But I found out the hard way that the cgineeae people on there don't make the bulb correctly and the actuallylonger and thar effects the light discharge so don't get then. They run about 11 a set. UT like he said. The lifespan is crap I bought my halo projectors in March ran them with the.regular halogen bulb till I found some blue coated ones that worked and got them about may. I had one burn out 3 days ago. I switched BA j to the regular clear/yellow. Drastic light out outburst I misstge pure withe look. Its really not worth the. Bulb to get the blue coated. Its really not that. Brighter.
I bought a set of bi-bulb hid kit from ebay for real cheap. When I have just my drl or my regular lights on they are clear but when I turn my highbeams on it kicks in the hid ballast and turns the xenon bulbs blue. Its the 8000k kit and it looks really good and doesnt mess with anything. I had the just take the wiring harness from the kit and move 2 wires so it would work that way. Heres the link....

Yeah I had those in my truck beforevi sold it and moved them over to my golf cart. They work fine. Hes talking about in the projector lights the aftermarker headlights. They wont hold up the housing will melt the projector headlights. Now the hid will hold up just fine with the oem headlights because they are made better. I liked how yo u swaped them and made themv work on the high beams. Because where i am the state troopers are really anal about hids but if you stay iunside like fort worth or dallas city limits the police dont care. How buouvhave it worked is high beams and you dont drive inti oncoming traffic with your high beams.
Gothcha... I'm outside the Denver area so they don't mess with us to bad. I angled the lights a little lower so I can drive with the clears and the HID's. I havent had anyone flash me yet :D Ahhhh... maybe I should of looked at the projection beam section huh lol And I swapped the 2 red wires around on the connector itself. So the smaller wire is on the top and the thicker red wire is off to the side, I left the ground where it belongs. I also changed all my lighting like my markers and blinkers to led, kinda made my blinkers flash quicker but make my tail lights a little more cleaner with the clear led rather then the normal yellow bulb. I put red led in the rear blinker and soft white led in the reverse lights.
