I've seen lots of people have great success using DDMtuning kits, and if you're only interested in keeping your low beams then a kit can be had fairly cheap. Once you get into the dual beam, the kits actually have to have a mechanical mechanism that moves the bulb in a way that it can replicate a high beam. That is what drives the price up drastically, and in my opinion lowers their reliability. The 35/55 watt kits also make a huge difference in price. The 35 watt kits should never melt anything. Once you start getting in to 55 watt, there's a bigger chance since there's so much more power running through the system. But I think either way it would be just fine.

Good luck.
