      Hood struts

Has anyone installed hood struts? Is there a kit available or did any aveos ever come with them?

They didn't come with them, you will need a L adapter on both sides, the balls need to be on the same plan, so to speak. And you Need the installed distance matched to the hood strut, whether you are using one bolts, or your going to make new mounting locations. You should only need one strut? unless you go with 2 little ones.

they sell kits that have the pieces..

      for example..

      2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 Mustang Hood Strut Shock Lift Kit Made in USA | eBay

you would need to match the geometry.. any probably only need half the kit for how light our hood is in comparison.

I've decided I'm going to take the hood struts and mounts off my grand prix and put them on the aveo. I'll just take them off and weld on the little ball pieces that you connect the struts too

Take some pictures. That should look good. I may do the same. It would be nice to have a hood prop. I would leave the existing hood prop on the car as a back up. Those lifter shocks do wear out.
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

well yeah i'll leave it on. I already have the dome lights, visors, and grab bars from my grand prix in my aveo. Eventually the whole engine will be in there.
