No, well I dont think, it just seemed that its alittle different and people couldn't locate the plug, thats all.Quote:

did you have to remove the seats?

08 hatch here, i would also like to know how to disable my drls. i have some hid's i wanna put in, but i need to know how to disable my drls first.
with the hids in u dont really have to worry. the drl feature cant give the hids enuff power to turn on. and be aware the lil drl light on ur tach will flash all crazy lol.
they will not have enough power to stay on, it will trigger them to constantly try and turn on. thats where the flicker comes from when one uses hids with drl's. that flickering destroys the cheap ballast bought off ebay. this was a very big deal on the s10forums. theyre solution was to pull the drl fuse.
mine dont flicker at all with the drl setting.
maybe these operate at a lower voltage. a voltage test will have to be performed.
Either way the DRLs aren't good for the HIDs. I'd get rid of them.
In my 08 hatch its on a bracket under the dash above gas pedal, there are 3 boxes stacked on it, its the one on top. It says drl on it but very hard to see unless your like 4 ft tall
thats what i want to do, i just dont know how. i dont remember seeing a drl fuse
it's not a fuse. it's like a plug kinda thing.
i found it now! yay! unplugged that sucker, now my city lights rock. thanks lil orange, your description helped quite alot. i've been looking for it.
mmmm post some pics :]
Okay here's a photo. It's that yellow thing near the top. The arrow points to the plug that's now unplugged. For me to see it, my head is by the clutch pedal and my body is resting on the sill kinda.[attachment=0:2t61hk93]Car 008.JPG[/attachment:2t61hk93]
FOr all those guys and gals out there with the 07 sedan. To turn off the DRL's all you have to do is take out the fuse which is located on the drivers side. Open the panel and the fuse is a 10 amp. The panels says "DRL". I dont think the sedan has the box above the pedals, tried to look for it  and all I did was busted my knuckels trying to find it under there.
is there a long-term difference in gas mileage when the DRLs are unplugged?
im trying to decide if this is serious or not. in th meantime i will answer it to the best of my knowledge. no you will more than likely not see any change in gas mileage. but you will see an increase in the life of your halogen bulbs seeing as how they will notalways be on and getting vary amounts of voltage all the time.Quote:

on the drivers side there is your fuse oanel, in there is a 15 fuse, simply pull it out.. the little panel dorr tells what is what.. its EASY
Will have to remember that when I install my HIDs.Quote:

Someone told me that some states are handing out tickets for them still.
If HID's did not come with the car, they are illegal.Quote:

ive been runnin hids in a halogen bowl for about 6 months now. I of course "aimed" the headlight assemblies down a bit and i have lids on my lenses but i know it still causes some glare. im working to retrofit the hid lenses in but i need money and time and the turbo kit to be done. but anywjo, i have not recieved any tickets or anything of sorts from anyone. i dont even get flashed by other people. only thing that sucks is my visibility has dropped some at nite but i mostly drive in the city so its not an issue for me.
