As referenced by the title and pictures, I had a bit of a mishap with Scootaloo on Wednesday morning; I overslept and was running late for work, and slid into the pallet of potting soil shown in the 3rd picture; I think that is what saved me from from further damage. But I will need to fill and paint the damage.

I would take a heat gun to the bumper and see if it would straiten out.
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

Actually, the bumper cover is not caved in; because I was at a very slow speed when I hit it (less than 5 mph), it's also due to the fact that I hit a pallet of potting soil which is soft. I will however have to repair some holes and deep gouging because as seen in the picture, there were metal signs in front of the pallet of soil which punched holes into the cover. All of the blue tint on my bumper are from the bags of soil which are colored blue.

The Road to Recovery beckons! Headed to Pullapart in Nashville last Friday in search of parts; and a 2006 sedan graciously donated a wheel cover (that needed a complete strip and repaint, but was a perfect part number match to my old wheel cover) and this is the final result of several days worth of scraping, sanding and painting!

Phase 2 of Scootaloo's cosmetic repairs have commenced! I have made my supply purchases today because the work scheduling gods smiled upon me and gave me 5 days straight off the week after next week; it will give me a chance to pull Scoot Scoot's nose off and use the pictured items ($91.53 for everything, including the special fillers and primers) to make those nasty gashes and small hole go away. Time to put that 2 years worth of collision training to good use!

When I put that plastic honda crap on my bumper (still looks good) I had issue getting glues to stick to the new plastic. You will find that working with the Aveo bumper to be very satisfying and should work well with the products you picked.

what I will likely do, is rough up the inside of the bumper so the epoxy past I have will have a better grip to keep the reinforcing mesh in place for the hole.

I have reached the primer stage! Incredibly, the primer nearly MATCHES the top coat! Now to let this dry, block sand it, then it will be time for the Top Coat! Then after that, two layers of clear coat, then I can put Scootaloo's nose back on!
