      Mud Flaps!

So, i am really considering a set of Rally Armor mudflaps, black universal ones with red writing? Any thoughts? Anyone have the rally armor universals? I dont think they would be hard to install but if anyone knows how to or knows someone who has them that would be awesome! Maybe what kinda hardware i should use? Could i just use the stock hardware and make my holes and fit them? just looking for advice. Thanks everyone!

I gave up on mud flaps. They look nice and mostly keep the mud contained. However, the dirt and moisture retained eventually rots out the body panel where they are attached - no matter how much you wash that area and try to keep it clean. No matter what fasteners you use, the rusting will start once you drill holes in the panel to attach them.

That's what kills me, is the DRILLING of holes in the sheetmetal to 'protect' the car. I actually bought no-drill Weathertech flaps for my '11 Silverado. They're fantastic, look like the OEM's in shape, but actually use the factory mounts for the liner, and a built in clip on the flap to attach to the car. Not sure if they make them for the Aveo though.

No matter how they are attached they will still retain dirt and therefore moisture, which will cause rusting. You might be able to remove them often, to clean out the area, but it may be more trouble than it's worth.

I am actually going to use all the factory hardware. I have no rusting in that area right now and the car is 8 years old..
So, I will see how i can prevent it from happening.
