      Paint Coming Off

I have a 2009 Aveo5 in bright blue. About a month ago I noticed a bubble in the paint on the left front fender and the adjacent part of the hood. The paint has now flaked off of the hood and I have about a six inch by six inch area of no paint. There are also about a half a dozen other, smaller spots around the car that are also losing the blue paint. What shows now appears to be the gray primer. Anyone know why? What can be done? Help!

GM clear coat paint is vulnerable to weathering. It looks great when it is new, then deteriorates. It was probably not garaged, nor often washed nor polished. Too little, too late. As long as it still runs... that's all that matters.

This stuff works great but a paint job will always be better

This all depends upon what you want most. If you want to keep it for a long while and prevent future rusting from paint loss, then have it repainted. If you don't care how it looks and only want it to run well, then that's another story. Either and/or both will cost money.

If you want it all, you'll need to buy a new car.
