I am slowly getting the pieces to convert the Aveo into a Holden Barina.
I removed the rear chevy bowtie and installed a Holden badge after debadging the entire exterior (except front grill).
I made the mistake of prying with a screwdriver wrapped in a t-shirt. Even though I was gentle the sheet metal is so thin it ended up marking and tiny denting the trunk. I was going to use a smaller emblem but the marks were too noticeable.
After realizing the error I used a plastic putty knife (wide) and wrapped in a t-shirt. That did the trick.
Before I tried prying I used fishing line to help cut the glue on the original emblem.
Next I pried gently with plastic putty knife wrapped in a t-shirt.
I used Goo Gone General Purpose spray and a white t-shirt to remove the left over glue. This came of quite easy.
Next I used bug and tar remover to clean and prep the area followed by glass cleaner.
Then I used 3M emblem adhesive, a thin layer, and held for 5 minutes.
Next I cleaned the leftover glue and waxed the area.
The rear emblem I used had posts and tabs on it which I snapped, cut and filed off and cleaned before gluing.
