      Removing glue from headlights.

Hey folks. I recently did the 'Joey Mod' to my Aveo's headlights. I cleaned the inside and outside of them before attaching them back together (they look awesome by the way. I recommend this mod to anyone who does not have after market head lights he he). Unfortunately, it seems that I must have leaned one of them onto a cloth that had some of the gooey crap on it... and I got some on one of my headlights. I didn't notice until the next day and it seems like it's on there decently good. I was just wondering if it was safe to use either Paint Thinner or some other solvent on the plastic casing of the headlight without damaging/fading it. Like would I be able to use paint thinner to remove the glue... and then just be sure to clean the light really good after? Any thoughts? I was also considering using a heating gun to melt the glue again and then cleaning it that way.

If you do use a solvent, make sure you first try it on a spot you don't see in case it does mess it up. I'd try goo gone, it seems to work great for removing gooey stuff.

I hate that product, I tried and it did not work for me at all! It would not take the asfalt splaters off my bumper... Grrrrrr I had better luck with heavy wax. In ur case, It will probably work tho.

goo gone is just like fancy nail polish remover /cleaner..

thinner might work, is it the silicone or the adhesive ? try 3m adhesive remover, anything that has alcohol or thinner if a type might etch or "melt" the plastic on the lens. even if your quick with it it might haze the lights.
