      tail-light suggestions...

have a 09, tailights so ugly,, i wanna put on some vinyl.

what do you think about this, ( now temporary duct tape, have carbon fiber vinyl, and clear read vinyl...)

my plan is to make the half circle of the turn signal to red,

and for the black part,,, shall i also use red instead, but add extra layers.

if you dont want the rounded bottom of the taillight, just buy a first gen taillight, and a earlier rear bumper?

in fact i would be glad to trade you a set of early stock taillights for your stock rear lights.

that will cost me painting, aftermarket LED tails will be more awsome than stock 08 tail
      and vinyl adds horse power,
look at my "tail-light mod" , lol !!!
by the way if i dont like it in the future i can just peel it...

duct tape for now,,, if i like it in few days will go for something nicer than duct tape

the other plan is to add 3 stripes of red LED's like that on the bumper, 1 for clearence light, 2 for stop lights,
any suggestion how to integrate the signal to the stop light or the clearence light, instead of adding another which means 4 LED strips each side?
i tried to add 100 ohm or 80 ohm resistence to the led strips it will go dimmer.
how to make a wire set, to the clearence lights led, to become dim (thru a 100 ohm resistance), and become bright as the signal flash (without resistence)

I like Petrified's suggestion only because when you place the duct tape covering the bottom part of the circle in the tails, it makes the bumper look weird with the rounded out parts in them. Like it's out of place or something.

i say if youre buying the earlier shaped taillights, go with the led set, theyre really not expensive.
the duct tape looks pretty silly to me.

$100 a set of taillight they are cheap, but adds up the painting cost and the "lost the black bumper insert" make it seem sont worth it......

duct tape is for temporary only, just to see how it looks, people...

consider its some black film or something... and my hatch spoiler is black color.

ya but how about 2 or 3 layers of red to replace the black ?

Open it!!!! Not afraid!! Just be sure to do it to avoid mistakes!! Is simple...use a heat gun to open it, carefully open separating the cover, then paint all chrome to black (except the bulbs reflection area)...gonna be great! I´m sure of this!! Then use a gray silicon like glue to attaching again...i did it on my aveo sedan and looks great...here is

i did the headlight, it was not quite sucessful,
let me redo the headlight, until its sucessful, then i will try to F with the tails,
but so far i am happy with this vinyl setup,
and i bought a pair of LED back up lights its awsome,

by the way your sedan has a clear cover,
if i open it and paint the chrome, it will most likely same as just smoke the outside lens,,,
      your tail-lights are awsome..
