Time to start doing some work...

      Hey,

So I've been contemplating selling my Aveo5 SVP, however I've just decided to keep it. 120,000KM and it's running strong. I've done some work but it's time to get it looking good.

      Within the next 2 weeks:

5% Window tint - Front and rear windows
KVT Nightshade - Smoking out the tail-lights, can I do it to the headlights?
      Smoking out the emblems

      Within the next month:

Getting some smoked out rims/low pro's for this beast. Thinking 17's...

Think it'd look nice on my car? Check out my garage for a pic.

Laugh now, fly later... Damn it feels good to be a Taylor!

dont shade out your headlights. headlights power fades far too rapidly to shade them and it will be very unsafe and possibly illegal..

17s look nice as long as you lower your car too..

I recommend the Joey MOD for your headlights. It will make them nice and dark without losing intensity. It's also simple and cheap.

I will think of a better signature later.

Yeah I'm gonna take a look into the JOEY mod. Has anyone done window tinting yet? I've got a roll of 5% tint, doing the front and rear windows plus the rear windshield (Front windows aren't legal here but if you do get caught you have 7 days to take it off before getting a fine so I'm taking my chances)

i've done it to windows out of the car, but will honestly say im not that good at it.

its a fine combination of applying wet, but not too wet, not getting bubbles, etc.

Alright, so with the windows in the car I got the rear passenger side one done, all was fine, tucked inside the door sil or weather proofer whichever you'd like to call it. There was just one tiny air streak at the very bottom because of a little rip in the tint while putting it in. It looked amazing, but I had to take it off because that air streak drove me nuts.

So I'm thinking about taking out the windows, and doing it all that way. How hard is this? Is it risky? And anyone have any idea of a good way of trimming the peices for the back window? :P

to cut the tint, clean the outside of the window REALLY well, and then lay the tint on it wet, keep it wet. (keep in mind "sticky" side out) Cut the tint with a razor using the part of the window you can see through as a template. Then take the tine off, spray the part that was against the glass to clean it again and go stick it to the inside of the window and smooth it out.

this will sort of work for the back window as well but i wouldnt attempt it without a heat gun etc.. (i wouldnt attempt it myself)

taking out windows isnt hard at all, but practice putting them back in, because if you scratch your tint putting them back in you will cry.

Okay, we're going to take out the windows and do the tint that way. How do I do the stationary windows inbetween the rear windows and the rear windshield?

Secondly, for the rear windshield I have a heat gun. I'm going to attempt it tonight.
