I go by the owning company. Daewoo is owned by GM, an American company.Originally Posted by oscare003

even so, they are still imported anyways :P
most later year audis you see driving around in US are built in Mexico and Canada... And surprisingly sometimes different parts don't switch out from one to another...Originally Posted by thehunterooo

still owned by a German company. Doesn't matter where they're built in my opinion. just which company owns the brand.Originally Posted by serega12

Everyone's entitled to their opinion... I would drive a WRX STI hatch in a heartbeat... and would buy a Q7 Audi for my wife... Would not think twice about them being imports... thing is, they're a little out of my price range for now...Originally Posted by Z34guy

I prefer to keep the money in the USA> My reason for not judging where they're built is this. To me, it's where the money from the sale goes. The money goes to the company headquarters first. That's how I judge what's American and what's an Import. Where it's built has no say. Honda's and Toyota's may be built in the US, but the money still goes overseas. People complain about the USA economy, but don't take any pride in American products and wonder why there's no jobs when they buy an import car. -_-Originally Posted by serega12

These excuses were true..... 20 YEARS AGO! It pissed me off how stupid the American public is. Don't like American product? Move to Japan, take those "Support our troops" magnets off your Toyota and take that American flag off your import. It's disgraceful.
"But I'm an American..."
Prove it. Start acting like one and take some pride in your country and it's products.

100% agree, though myself i would like people to stop dwelling in the past, just like you said, years ago there was an era where many domestic cars were not very good, but today its the opposite
I feel very strongly on that topic and will not dumb down my views for anyone. I will fight to the death to defend domestics.Originally Posted by thehunterooo
