For 3 years rustproofing was done, now I wish I had done more, hadn't expected the damn car to last this long. Soooooo body boyz, what is the best thing to do with this 'just for now'? Hammered silver tremclad?

If that's the only spot of rust, I would just sand it down good, hit it with a DA sander if handy, get ALL the rust off completely. If you don't get every but of rust it will just come right back and eat away the metal under the paint. If it has other rust and is fading away like some cars, the best bet is rust neutralizing paint. Once cars get to a certain point you don't much care about appearance, just keeping the metal sound. If that is the only spot, you can grind it down, putty it as needed, then etch prime, and respray it. I had a hood with rust, sanded the hell out of it, got every spec of rust off it, etch primed it, then a year later the rust was all back. It can be a pain! Best of luck.

Thanks 06T200 the spot is getting larger and my procrastination is showing. Ok so its winter and cold so just so its clear here is what I am thinking today (just for now of course):

-angle grinder sand gently until no rust
-etch prime, i do not know what this is but say vinegar alcohol wash
-buy a can of rust paint and hit it good
-then wrap the whole car darker say light char coal
