What Color should I paint my Brake Calipers?

My car is bright Blue with Black Rims & a Red pinstripe along the rim. My car is primarily Blue and Black. So what should I do for the brakes? I'm thinking either blue to match the car, red to match the pinstripe on the rims or black to just conceal it.

      Black.

Because they will become dirty due to brake dust. If you paint them any other color it will be all the more obvious that they are dirty, as they will always be dirty.

Save your bright colors for places on the car that don't become so dirty. Have you considered a pink bow-tie?

Thymeclock is right about being dirty. However, I still like silver calipers.

if you spray you calipers (no over spray on the rotor!!) with teflon wax spray then the brakes dust cant stick to it.

at least thats what the show car guys tell me.

Black... and if you use ceramic pads the dust is pretty much invisible. I painted mine to match the wheels at the same time as I painted my rear drums black too... They don't stick out from the black wheels.

definitely black. one, if you paint the calipers you wanna paint the drums the same color and anything other than black or silver looks kinda dumb, in my perspective that is. second, i have black rims on my car too and i painted mine black and i love it. check out my pics the one has a good shot of the front caliper, its modest but people that understand anything in cars will notice that you put in the time and effort to paint them and they'll appreciate it. and on a side note i saw that someone posted you wont be able to see that they get dirty that's untrue. rain, road dirt and dust, and break dust do they're job of making any color calipers dirty.

Which ever color you choose definitely take everything apart and and tape off the wheel well and about ten inches of the car body around the wheel well to protect from over spray. saved my neck big time i didn't notice which way the spray can was the one time and accidentally sprayed in the wrong direction if it wasn't for the plastic i would have painted my wheel well along with some of my bumper. save yourself the clean up and the aggravation in the long run.

keep us posted and let us know what you decide. post some pics.

I always just take my calipers off when I paint them. I'm gonna tape off "SS" on mine to leave silver and paint the rest blue. My rear drums will be black.
