im saving the money for the versus wide body what is every ones opinion on this kit???
im just iffy onn the back bumper. you can see like the whole muffler, and whatever you call it. whiteraven ran into the same problem with his rear bumper. look at the picture on gravanas site to see what im talking about.

it could be quite hiddious...
jsut wanted to point that out incase you didnt see that.
dont want you to buy it, put it on and be like WTF!
ya that is kinda ugly like that, never noticed it before.
The good thing is you can pretty easily fill the hole up and mold it to blend in with the bumper so it looks like there never was a hole... Never accept things as is if you don't like it :P
or just get an aftermarket exhaust, it wont look as bad as our stock triangle exhaust...
you'll still see the undercarage, which i think looks the worst. filling in the hole would look a million times better, but i still dont know if id like it.
well if you just put a mesh screen across all the gaps on it except for where your exhaust would be, that should take care of most of the ugly.
I say good luck. I want to see someone get this kit and make something great out of it. Need any help or got questions I'll do what I can.
+1, besides having a hole theres good for air flow so mesh would do it.Quote:

I'd recommend 5zigen Fno1r-c, it's one of the few really lightweight, wide wheels available for less than $300 each and has a decent selection. You could probably just put 8" wide wheels on there if you get an offset that'll fill up the fenders well enough and some 235mm tires, anything bigger is a huge waste. Even if you double the hp of the car, and have an amazing suspension you won't get much use out of wider tires.

exactly what u need to do.Quote:

uh, what stress are we talkin about? if u are not puttin down at least 200 wtq then there shouldnt be too much stress on ur hubs, they are pretty solid as is, so whatever you are doin right now should be ok, even with the big rims.Quote:

And I think the mesh would look ricey because it is too much of an area to fill.Quote:

or maybe a redesigned rear bumper. whiteraven was/is working on one.
but then the question is, why buy an aftermarket rear bumper if you are gonna change everything about it?
hey im just tryin to throw ideas out there. thats kind of like asking why buy a car if you are going to change everything about it u know? it would just give him something to work with. and maybe because its the only wide body kit for our car (that i know of).
I say go for it...I bought a previous SEMA car...everyone thought I'd just drive it... but I used it as a base to make a car I can be really proud to own for a long time.
If you are gonna start on a widebody, I suggest you join http://www.FiberglassForums.com and read up on all the helpful information there...you can save alot of money by making your own fender flares with foam and a hot knife.
If you really want to do a special wide body kit for your aveo. You should look into getting a rear bumper piece from a lancer body kit. It will require some customizing but both sets will, just another option. Check out http://www.body-kitz.com/index1.html for body kit options, I know you can get it cheaper on other sites.
No need for the conversion...the only reason I'd recommend it is it's not fun finding wide wheels with the right offset for your car. Well let me rephrase that, It's nearly impossible to find LIGHT wheels in the right width and offset to fit your car with a widebody.Quote:

Well from experiance with my car you shouldn't have problems. I know it's not the same car (btw I drive a forenza) but it's built alike.Quote:

I've road raced about 10 hours like that, with fully adjustable coil-overs that are WAYYY to stiff, sway bars, and a chassis brace. I also have a freakin huge big brake kit. I've had no problems, or signs of problems with the studs. I just recently doubled my BBKs caliper size, moved up to 235mm 100tread rating full competition tire, added a good 15whp more, and added some more stiffness to the chassis/suspension. I haven't seen the track like this yet, but I've talked to a few people about my setup like this only with twice as much whp (with my turbo going on soon) and they said I'd be fine with ARP bolts, I didn't ask about stock cuz I wanted longer bolts anyways as I'm running spacers. ARP studs are as cheap as $20 for all four wheels so I'd get them if your worried
ok thanks man i dont want to use spacers because the track were i go they wont pass a tech inspection and i think they are just unsafe i am building a grip car if it makes any difference im saving for the motor swap first but the body kit is close lolQuote:
