Re: 04 Aveo 5 dr speaker change.

i like the fit, i cant stand adding all those lines and gaps..

i forget who has the 09 with and aftermarket nav type unit, and it looks good but there are like 3 trim rings around it..

if the radio kit had a new piece in it that replaced the current surround in one piece that cam in the whole way to me the radio, that would look nice. but putting in the factory trim with a trim piece inside of it to bringthe shape to "true" double din, then the trim piece that comes on the radio.. it just takes away form the look.

i have been tempted to try the korean oem nav. but $400 and buying it from some shady website.. eh not so much.

i'm just glad to have a radio a lot of my other cars you couldnt hear one over the engine..

I can think of numerous reasons why someone may want to keep a stock head unit. Something like it came from the factory with XM radio and a free subscription, or just a stealth install. Aftermarket radios scream "steal me" or maybe he has steering wheel controls he wants to keep...or microsoft sync or onstar..
Chances are, most of Aveos don't come with XM radio... And as far as I know, none of them come with Microsoft Sync.. Onstar could hooked up to an aftermarket radio as far as I know, the stereo is just a means for the onstar to communicate with you... And if you have Microsoft Sync, Onstar, AND XM radio with free subscription, chances are, your car already came with a very nice sound system.

Bottom line, in an Aveo, you will most likely get an improved sound quality. My wife's HHR did come with Onstar, XM radio with free subscription, built in 6 disk CD changer and other little things.. and it also came equipped with 8 speaker Pioneer sound system with a sub in the back... I don't even wanna mess opening it up and very satisfied with the sound.

Aveo's stock sound system cries for improvement.

Rabbit, you might have issues because Korean Nav unit might not have the correct maps in it... Or no language option. Then you'll have to learn Korean..

      Rabbit,

The reseller ratings are pretty high, but there's only 4 reviews LIFETIME and only 3 in the last six months...

      http://www.resellerratings.com/store/AutoDVDGPS_Qualir

I usually check the stores/sites on here first... the reviews are usually pretty accurate, but I would be weary about only 3 reviews in half a year... sounds like he could have his buddies/relatives type something up.
