2005 Aveo static on only AM radio stations....

This is not the factory am/fm/cd radio, I think its an Alpine, it came with the car when I bought it 2 years ago.

Over the past 6 months or so, I've noticed that at times that ONLY my AM radio stations would have a lot of static. Now its to the point where AM is virtually useless.

I also notice that I can pick up the RPM of my engine thru AM stations upon acceleration. Now I know back in the day cars use to have a radio condenser but not sure what this Aveo might have.
