Anyone know if the 2009-2010 factory radios have the 'theftlock' feature on them? Looked in the owners manual and it doesn't say anything about the theftlock or the codes.
Like to know before I disconnect the battery.
Thanks.

IDK, I remember on the older Chevy radios had theft-lock written right above the time. If it does, it might just be for the 2LT, 1LT if your lucky. I doubt they'd bother with the LS. I couldn't say for sure though.
are you asking because you want to swap head units? i have done it twice, and although both said theft lock, they both worked perfectly when plugged in and i did not need a code, or anything.
No Theftlock, but if it's locked, it has to be programmed to the car it's installed in
I just changed my 2010 am/fm radio to a am/fm/cd/mp3 out of a 2009. Everything works fine. No Theftlock and no codes just plug and play.
Yep, radio works after I disconnected the battery for my cruise control install. This is good, as I have a factory 2009 AM/FM CD player coming on Monday. Going to replace that along with the HVAC controls next week (AC install in the spring).
I changed out the HVAC controls when I did the radio also. There are two cables that hook to the controls. The one on the drivers side won't let you pull the the controls out enough to unhook them. But it's real easy to unhook that cable from under the dash first. I spent 1/2 hour trying to get them unhooked before looking under the dash and seeing how easy it was.
Cool, tip taken!
Just got done installing the 2009 factory CD player that I picked up on eBay. Works good, no programming required.
I'm old, factory radio suits me just fine. Now if I could have located a CD/cassette player...LOL
the cd cassette (or just cassette?) is available in the african/indian markets.. so you could get one:P
