OnStar is like turn-by-turn navigation, car phone, emergency response like if your in an accident or something, and soon they're updating it to notify you in your car of extreme weather conditions.

Has anyone actualy taken of this rascaly piece of plastic yet ? if so please tell us if it just pops off--or not

yes it pops off but .. get a flat super flat screwdriver or what i uses a super slim knife..
take your time and pops right off

I have an 09 and I think it is the same as last years sedan model for the install kit. You'll need a special adapter if you wish to retain your OnStar. It's really expensive, it's called a "peripheral" and I think it's made by Stinger.

I know it's been a few years since this topic was made, but I want to know if anyone tried this in a 2009 Aveo with an aftermarket stereo and Onstar. Because what I found when I looked up that Peripheral by Stinger said that it was for 00-04 GM vehicles. Or am I not finding the proper thing?

Also, I looked up that PAC thing, but it doesn't list the '09 Aveo as a compatible vehicle.

How did you get the trim off? I hate to just start prying? I have a 2010 and there seems to be no place to get under it? Need to remove trim to get at the HAVC controls. thanks

put a few pieces of tape on the hvac controls by the seam line, and then stick a plastic putty knife in there and pry it up.
