I have a 2009 aveo Lt and I got a subscription for xm satellite with the car but there is no way to pull up xm band on the cars stereo. I called the dealer and they said the car doesn't have xm then but I thought all 09 and newer aveos were equipped with it. What do I have to do to use the subscription, just change stereos or is there some other way I can go about it other than the fm transmitter?,would like to take advantage of this service if I can make it work
is it the mp3 radio? hit the band button, it cycles am fm then xm?
it is the mp3 radio, i hit the band button and all that comes up is am and fm, i never have seen a band for xm on there no matter what i try
does your Car have OnStar? they usually pair the XM with the OnStar so they can combine the 3 Different antennas the car needs into the One Multi-Band Antenna.
base aveo has the onstar too..
your mp3 is not the premium CD is it? just mp3 am/fm radio? i do not think that radio is xm ready iirc.

The car does have onstar yes, it says mp3 on the corner and something else under it that slips my mind at the moment, but there is no xm band on the radio nor does it have the icon anywhere that I'm aware of
according to my Digital copy of my 2010 Owner's manual, the logo underneath the MP3 Logo is the Compact Disc Logo. The XM logo SHOULD Be under that one (if your radio has either the single Disc or 6-Disc Changer) Its on the Opposite side if its just the AM/FM/XM Radio.
yea there is nothing anywhere on the radio that says xm on it. just the mp3 stuff. I am just wondering if the car itself would be compatible if i put an xm ready stereo in it or if i would have to add all that garbage on to it.
