Question 2009 Radio In 2005 LT?

      Hey Everyone,

This might seem like a dumb question, but will a 2009 radio fit and work in my 2005 Aveo? I thought about just buying a new head unit, but all I really want is an AUX port and keep the ability to play MP3's. I Don't plan to change the speakers or add an amp. I really want to keep the stock look as well.

Do any of you know off-hand if it will fit? Will I need different trim pieces? And how hard will it be to wire up? I think the connector is a different shape...

      Is there a possible adapter?

I don't care to go to the dealer and have it programmed if I have to, I just want to make sure it will work.

      Thanks,
      -Andrew

Here's the Radio I'm thinking about buying:

Well, I have decided to buy this head until when I get paid, to replace mine. Its the closest thing to the stock 2009 look that I can find. It also has all the features that I would need and, I can change it to the green display to match the rest of the dash.

Kenwood DPX300U CD receiver at Crutchfield.com

Maybe I'm just a little OCD...

I thought this Pioneer was good bang for your buck at $120:
Pioneer FH-X500UI CD receiver at Crutchfield.com

Pioneer touch screen DVD for $230 peeked my interest as well:
Pioneer AVH-X1500DVD DVD receiver at Crutchfield.com

But this is the unit that Crutchfield shipped a couple days ago to me:
JVC KW-R800BT CD receiver at Crutchfield.com

$150 shipped including all the install stuff to go into my 2010 Aveo. Even has Bluetooth which is cool.

That's a nice looking Kenwood unit you're getting there. You'll be hooked on aftermarket stereos after this. "Play mp3s... AUX..." Just wait until you plug a USB drive in, or play/charge your phone through it!

Thats my plan, I've got an extra 16GB flash drive perfect for it. However, I keep keep my music synced with my iPhone and iPad so idk. But it will be nice to have multiple options. I was going to get the one with Bluetooth, but I'm not usually on the phone in the car, and I don't think Bluetooth has the quality that AUX or a Flash Mp3 does. Not to mention it will slowly kill your phone if its not plugged in. lol
