2010 factory radio in an 2005 aveo

i recently bought an 05 aveo from a friend who blew the timing belt. now that i've rebuilt the entire thing i've decided to keep it but it didn't come with a radio. i love the new gm radios so i'm wondering if its possible to install one in my 05 from an 2010 or one like it. now i know that they are 2 different wiring harnesses but i if i get one off ebay with the old wiring harness still attached on it its just a matter of matching up wires. at least thats the primitive way i'm thinking about it. i guess my question is will there be a theft-lock and will it actually fit? has anyone tried this before? if so any pointers? my car is a no frills type car. power nothing. no onstar. there has to be someone out there that has tried this!!!!

I know there have been threads relating to the factor stereo's in here. I have no idea about the wiring, my car came with an aftermarket stereo and I left it that way.

I will think of a better signature later.

I dont know about a plug and play, but I do know that if it does fit and can be hard wired, you wont be able to utilize the Onstar feature that is built in to that head unit. If interested though, I still have the factory cd/mps head unit out of my 04 sitting in my garage.
