      6.5" Speaker Installed - Doors

Well, here they are! I should have done this a long time ago. Those are 1" spacers with 'shallow' mount (1 3/4" deep) JVC CS-V628 speakers. The speakers aren't going to win any awards, but they're 1000x better then the stock 4"ers. Didn't bother taking any pics of the install. You'll have to mark holes to drill for the spacers. Screw the spacer in, and then just screw the speaker into the spacer. I found (and I think I read others) could only line the speaker up to use 3 screws. It's in a triangle pattern though and it's in there rock solid, so I'm not worried. Highly recommend doing this.

      Very neat looking job..
I ended up making spacers out of a $6 foamular panel from home depot (Panel link). Not the most aesthetic looking thing but it works. Then installed some Pioneer TS-A1675R 6.5" speakers (about $40 currently), which in sound quality beat every 6.5" speaker I tried near its price range. Definitely worth it and can also handle more power than many 4" speakers on the market. Not to mention 6.5" just has a "bigger sound" than any 4".

Installing 6.5" speakers is a simple upgrade with pleasing results..

Do you know which adapter these are, exactly? How much room is left in front of the speaker to the door panel? I'd like to do 6.5's, but I don't want to have too little room to fit the ones I want to run.

They're Metra 82-4300. There wasn't a whole lot of room left to the door panel. I wish I could help you out more, but I've recently sold the car, so I can't even check.
