I was wondering how to connect the accessory outlet in the center console directly to the battery and bypass the ignition and if anyone who has done this has had any negative results.

wishing you could charge your phone when your car is turned off? hehe
real easy. Just run a wire from constant power source (either from battery or I would run it from the ignition harness) and splice it in the right wire connected to the socket.
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.
+1 lol, i dont know why they dont make cars like that anymoreOriginally Posted by BigNasty
Probably because to many people had been leaving stuff plugged in and killing their batteryOriginally Posted by khan4rtist
I'd have to look into the battery saver that is on the aveo. More than once I've forgotten my headlights on and came back the next morning and the car would start no problem.

yeah, the headlights shut off once the key is removed from the ignition
I took out the rear plug and dropped in a AC socket for my laptop and ps2 because I am going to Vegas at the end of the month. Same principle. Run wire to the battery and rewire the socket.
I recommend the following pieces:
Good Wire Strippers
Wire Cutter
Two spools of wire, red and black (18 guage or less)
Heat shrink
Soldering iron
Solder
Terminals/wire ends. looks like a fork
switch. to kill the powerOriginally Posted by kirbycope
