My aveo has the single din MP3 player with the little cubby hole below it. I was told by another Aveo owner that I didnt need an installation kit to make it fit.
Is this true?
I mean, I know I would have to have the harness...

I didnt need anything other than the harness. I just had to drill and extra hole into the metal sleeve to put one of the screws into hold the deck.Originally Posted by big_bad_jon32586
what harness do we need?
Its more fun to drive a slow car fast, rather than drive a fast car slow!
the dwh664 harness adaptor
Im assuming youre talking about the metal sleeve for the aftermarket deck? Cause I havent even had mine out. I want to be sure I have all the parts first. Dont want to have to run around without a stereo at all, or the dash half tore apart(I know that center section is all that has to be removed, but Ive had older trucks like that...)Originally Posted by dmeech
I went to best buy and got a install kit, cost me under 35 dollars for it and the wire harness. I tried using the stock mounting hardware, but it just didn't sit right and I didn't want to cut holes into it.

Yeah the hole was drilled into the afermarket sleeve
I also drilled a hole in the aftermarket sleeve, best buy didnt have the correct wiring harness, but circuit city did, its a daewoo wiring harness.
