      Aftermarket Seats Installed!

Finally got both of my Cipher Auto aftermarket seats installed and I couldn't be happier! They look great and are really comfortable as well!

Wow, they look fantastic! I am doing this pretty much for sure, I need lateral support now that the suspension is done lol. Can you give any more specifics on the mounting? You used stock brackets, correct? Just curious to know if any grinding and drilling is needed. It would be sweet if they could mount a bit lower than the stockers too. And what about the airbags - do you have the red airbag sensor on now?

They are mounted a bit lower then the stock ones yes. From what the guy told me who fabbed the brackets up is that he had to cut down the sides and added a rear piece as the holes on the stock seats and aftermarket ones didn't line up. He used a combination of grinding, drilling, bolts and welding.

Air bag sensor is on yes, but it has been on mine for a while now. But unless you figure out a way to take out the air bags and implement them into the new seats you can't really avoid the sensor being on as far as i know.

If the seat airbags are anything like the airbags in a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer (doubtful), you should be able to put a dummy load (resistor) on the circuit and the computer would not know the airbags were missing.

Edit: The resistor idea assumes you know what the proper resistance SHOULD be.
