      Alpine HU CDE-125BT install KCE-433IV for I-Pod????

I had Alpine HU CDE-125BT installed by Best Buy a month ago and now I want to hook up an I-Pod to it. It is telling me that I need to buy a KCE-433IV cable to do this, but I'm not sure where this cable will need to be attached to?
Do I need to remove the HU again to attach it to the back of it and need to drill some holes? I'm a bit confused about what needs to be done. Has any one have an I-Pod attached to their stereos?

Yes, you will need to remove the HU to plug the cable into the back of it. Run the cable to the glovebox and you won't have to drill any holes and it will keep your ipod outta site. This is REALLY simple on an Aveo and should only take 15-20 minutes. If you buy the cable from BB they might install it free since they did the stereo.

Thanks. Went to BB at lunch, and the guy was clueless about it. I might try to do it myself.

you might not have to pull the radio out if you can reach behind it from the glove box compartment.. it would definitely be easier to pull the radio. but if you are going to drop the glove box to route the wire, you might be able to just reach up and plug it in.

Yeah just pull the radio out haha, it is easy enough anyways (just plug it in the back). All you need to take the radio out with is a screwdriver, pretty simple overall.

You could use the aux in as well.

I tried the Aux connection, but to me it didn't sound very good. I was hoping with the digital connection the sound would improve, plus with the cable it will keep the I-Pod charged.

Yeah I wouldn't doubt it. I have a fusion radio which has an internal docking port for most Ipods/Iphones, I have not had to charge mine in a long time haha.

you don't have to drop the glove box. after you remove the 2 trim pieces held in with clips, it is only 4 screws and the radio is out. with the radio out you can route to the glove no prob. Aux in sucks. This is a high speed connection and will let you control the ipod from the HU and will sound 100x better. easy peasy
