      Amp Grounding?

once my semester ends and the weather warms up Im planning on installing a sub in my car. I have the Amp and sub so far, still looking for a deck and holding out on the wiring kit. But I just want to know about the grounding of the amp. Where and how has everyone else done their's?

just an existing grounding bolt or another bolt in the body panels or drill your own in a body panel. ground it with the tail lights.

      Just some FYI-

*****IF YOU DO DECIDE TO DRILL INTO YOUR CAR MAKE SURE YOU CAN SEE BOTH SIDES OF THE HOLE AND THAT IT EASILY ACCESSIBLE****

***when you use an existing bolt sand down the surround paint so that you get a better ground connection....

***when mounting your amp avoid mounting directly onto a metal surface as you can actually create an electric field that hampers the performance of the amplifier....

Hey, so Im installing my sub and amp and I see that grounding bold with the 5 or so wires going to it.. I was told that it's not the best to share grounds for an amp. Is it really that bad?

I used to do it in the tire well. drilled a hole and put a bolt in. the ground wire had a i hook type washer, real simple.

****Make sure to clean the surface, you want bare metal, and seal it with silicon****

I have mine grounded to the frame of the passenger seat. There are accouple bolts that are easy to get under.
