best subs?

ok finaly wired up my system, and was desapointed. started thinking if the problem is in my pioneer amp, the box or the pyramid power sub called up my buddy and ask him if i could try out his mtx thunder 6000, so we did and holy shi t what a diff. so its the stupied pyramid sub.

although im kool with the way his mtx sounds, im shure there are better subs out there in the same price range.

what are good subs and brands?

im generaly looking in the low end of brand name sub, caz i will only power it with 80 watts rms (don't need nor want more power then that)

so how do the low end mtx stuck up to low end JL and alpine, fosgate , and kicker?

As far as kicker, the brand is great for being loud, but lacks clarity and durability( ability to take abuse).

the thing is my local NEW2YOU store (buy and sell) has 5 sets of 10" kickers in kicker boxes for 60$, and they will proly give me 20$ for my sealed box and the pyramid sub, so im just trying to figerout if its worth it. the sound clarity can't be worse then my pyramid can it be?

ps: my amp is 80 watts RMS so it should not abuse the kicker too much
