sucks they dont even have red...
EBay. Order them from there they have all kinds of colors. They have red. You just need to know how many of the bulbs I know for the t10 bulbs your safe with 5. And you need only one t5 for the odometer.
i have the 05 4 door do you mind posting a link for that car? i believe its 5 as well but im not sure... even if its more ill just put thos 5 in lol

is the t10. They are 2 to a set so u need to order 3 so you actually get 6 less and ill have to get the other link in for the smaller bulb.

Is the small one for the odometer. You only need one.
I changed all mine to blue led. You need 5x #195 bulbs for the gauges and 5x #T5 bulbs. One for the odo and the 4 for the HVAC unit. It's really easy to do. The only thing you need to be careful of is when you pull the HVAC unit you have very little play in your blender door cable.
Yeah when I did those I practically had to work from inside the dash very tight space to work in and that is very brittle brackets if you do attention them be extra careful.
When I changed my HVAC bulbs I used a pair of needle nose pliers... work smart, not hard :confused2:
Yeah me too I've got long skinny fingers. But they were still to big to twist the bulbs out. 40° angled/ bent needle nose
Question, is the ugly green thing on the back of the cluster easy to take off? I went to try and change mine but the place that normally does it, said they will not cause it will burn my computer
The insturment clusters take 4 or 5 (I believe its 4 but its been awhile since I have had mine off) t10 bulbs or 195. The bulbs with 5smd leds work best. The thermostat control are t5 led and tgere are 4 of them. Also tge park break warning light along with the turnsignal and high beam indicatur lights are the t5 as well. The shift indicator light showing wat gear your in is extremeky hard to get to. I got to mine but ir was melted and I ended up breaking the dust cover on it and u can't get anoyher unless you buy a whole assembly. I don't reccomenf trying it.
The aveo don't have a film like other older vehicles. Just a little rubber sleve over the light bulbs same for the thermostatconyrols
Mine does not. The bulbs are stuck there. I have taken out the cluster and saw the ugly green film. Mine is a 2011
2nd gen aveo's bulb are welded I thought. Read older posts
Ok sorry didn't see yours was second gen. The hole little tab should twist out. The black or grey base. Get on superbrightleds.com I believe they have them. And you can get on ebaY and find them too there cheaper. Probibly type in 195 or t5 led base or base adapeter or adapter and it should pull up what you need. Check to make sure they are coming from thre U.S. or you'll wait aboit 2 weeks to get them from china.
I have a 2010 Hatch. could I also do this?
yes, but yours are made onto the base. only the first gen is just push in on the bases. i have not seen the back and cluster of the second gen. so im not 100% sure what youll be working with.
Thanks! I'll look into it!
That's what mine used to look like. And for the odometer you gotta replace the bulb and remove the green film/sheet...

How hard was out to remove the film on the odometer? Is like to take ours of but i didn't wanna break it and have to buy another.
If your odometer is already out of the car and partially disassembled, it is fairly easy. If you still have to do everything and never have done it before - it can get pretty involving. The trickiest part I think is calibrating the needles and installing them in the correct position.
does anyone know how to get behind the thermo controls to change the color of those defrost lights and a/c button lights on the 1st generation aveo
Ohh I won't mess with it then lol. And the ac- heater controls are easy at least for the first gen. Just remove the trim in the sides.( held in by clips) they just pop off. There is like 2-4 Philips screws holding the whole assembly in. Be careful when u pull the assembly out. It will not come out all the way and the plastic is brittle. There is a plugthat goes to 4 lights. They twist just like the dash lights just smaller.install the lights in the 4 bases. Turn the park lights on make sure they r in the right direction and install and put back together. About 15 min for me to do mine. I got other lights ans will be redoing it again an see ill pribibly take pics when I do it. But one kety tool is needle nose plyers if possible 45 defree bent needle nose works best! But is possible with out if you have small fingers. Please be careful and not break the cables on the back that controls the a\c vent door! Like I said its very brittle. Hope this helps. Once you get it off you'll see how where the lighta go.
Search for led install... There was a how to on here somewhere. That's what I followed.
I have rough PDF on the install for the first gen if anyone is interested
I'd like that pdf. I'm trying to repalce all the bulbs with red led's
