Question, is the ugly green thing on the back of the cluster easy to take off? I went to try and change mine but the place that normally does it, said they will not cause it will burn my computer

The insturment clusters take 4 or 5 (I believe its 4 but its been awhile since I have had mine off) t10 bulbs or 195. The bulbs with 5smd leds work best. The thermostat control are t5 led and tgere are 4 of them. Also tge park break warning light along with the turnsignal and high beam indicatur lights are the t5 as well. The shift indicator light showing wat gear your in is extremeky hard to get to. I got to mine but ir was melted and I ended up breaking the dust cover on it and u can't get anoyher unless you buy a whole assembly. I don't reccomenf trying it.
The aveo don't have a film like other older vehicles. Just a little rubber sleve over the light bulbs same for the thermostatconyrols
Mine does not. The bulbs are stuck there. I have taken out the cluster and saw the ugly green film. Mine is a 2011

Ok sorry didn't see yours was second gen. The hole little tab should twist out. The black or grey base. Get on superbrightleds.com I believe they have them. And you can get on ebaY and find them too there cheaper. Probibly type in 195 or t5 led base or base adapeter or adapter and it should pull up what you need. Check to make sure they are coming from thre U.S. or you'll wait aboit 2 weeks to get them from china.
I have a 2010 Hatch. could I also do this?
yes, but yours are made onto the base. only the first gen is just push in on the bases. i have not seen the back and cluster of the second gen. so im not 100% sure what youll be working with.
Thanks! I'll look into it!
