Changing Dashboard Light Color?

behind the white things are the needles and gears ,already did that any other ideas

Yeah, I popped off those white covers, it's the little gears to turn your needles. I peaked just enough inside the chip and bezel and it looks like the dash light comes from little diodes like the ones for your tire pressure, ABS DRL and stuff like that. looks like we're stuck with the green boys. When I tried to put mine back together my tach and speedo were'nt working and i tried and tried and it worked with just the gauge panel but no bezel. As soon as I put it all back together it wouldnt work anymore. Then I realized those little clear trim pieces inside the cluster bezel were just barely on top of the tips of my needles. I'm an idiot. So, yeah that sucks....have to get someone to make a custom cluster for us I guess.

you can get different diodes and solder them on. but that is a lot of work.

lol wolfman your more of a man then me for admitting it.. last night i put the thing together and apart like 5 times .. my tach would work without the plastic then not,, i couldn't understand why.. then like you said the plastic was holding the needle lol

anyway so much for changing the colors , i figured as much when i took it apart and didnt see the bulbs

you can always go to red by getting a pontiac g3 cluster...

I didn't know a G3 cluster would work. I haven't even seen a G3 yet lol. I would do it for red.
Ok, I just googled it and that cluster looks awesome! I want one now. You really shouldn't have said anything lol. I wonder, everything should hook up the same huh? They're the same car basically.

Haha, I was getting so mad. I couldn't understand it, I was like " Ok well maybe when I'm snapping the front and back of the cluster together the electrical plugs aren't getting a good enough connection". So I tried and tried and tried and then put the face on at an angle and it worked lol.

wasnt the g3 only avail in Canada? also Pontiac is axed so the only model year would be 2009
not a easy find

I actually had the paperwork almost done for a red g3 but the Girlfriend spotted the yellow Aveo5 and the rest is history lol

The pontiac interior is nicer just for the gauges

it was brought to the USA to unload them all.. its actually well equipped (locally) about 2000 less than a new base aveo. if it wasn't for the odd combination front end. i would be seriously sad i bought an aveo instead.
